Fewer Days Lost to Sick Leave
June 17th, 2008Workers took slightly less time off sick last year, a new survey from the
CBI has found. On average employees were off work sick for 6.7 days in
2007 compared with seven days in the previous year. However, of the
172 million days lost to sickness absence, some 21 million were thought
to be for bogus reasons, the CBI said, costing the economy £1.6
billion.
